Thread: Where to get Vasectomy in South TX?

I'm looking to get my dog vasectomized as opposed to neutering for many reasons; potential growth risks from loss of sex hormone, can't go to doggy day care while I'm at work without being neutered, etc. If anyone knows of a vet in South Texas (I'm in Corpus, but willing to drive), please let me know.

If it were me, I'd just call up a couple of large nearby emergency animal hospitals, and ask them for a reference. They may know a vet in your area that does that procedure. Breeder probably won't be too happy about that either, why do you care, are you just trying to get AKC papers for the dog?

Biggest reason right now is doggy day care. I can't leave an adolescent pup at home; he's destroyed my carpet and rugs. I agree that neutering could alter the growth of a dog, but to sterilize him would solve many problems and allow him to get exercise and socialization at doggy day care. Otherwise, I wouldn't mind keeping him fully intact.
