That would be awful, I think the only animal that would probably attack a dog here apart from another dog, would be a kangaroo and that would only be if it was cornered , and attack for self defence.

Thumbs down Elderly Woman Attacked by Pit Bulls

Yet again, another sad story about someone who has been attacked by aggressive, out of control pit bulls. The thing that really angered me while watching it on the news today, was that the creep who was with the dogs, took the dog after the attack and repeatedly punched it with his fist, while the dog lay on the sidewalk.

Another example of a breed getting a bad name, due to the abusive treatment, poor training and lack of attention/affection from the owners. These jerks should not be allowed to own any pets, and should be behind bars, IMO. I have mixed feelings about the breed, I've met ones that are well cared for and very sweet and friendly...and I've been around some that I was afraid would break free from their tie-downs, they are capable of inflicting severe damage to both pets and people.

Alpha1, thank you for following up your bad news about pit bulls with some good news about pit bulls. I also have mixed feelings about the breed, but certainly it is maddening that such folks would even be allowed near them! I believe they all have the potential to be sweet and affectionate, if only they are treated right.

I think that there are many friendly and loving Pits, with caring owners in this world. The ones that attack people and other pets are always mistreated and unloved, IMO. I've petted some at the park that were very nice and well behaved.

I've watched the Animal Planet on National Geographic TV, where people train them to fight, use younger pups or other breeds for practice "bait", and make money from this bloodsport. The poor bait dogs get torn up, literally...such a shame. Those people should be behind bars, or maybe hogtied on the ground in the same basement with a fighting Pit Bull, and let them experience the pain.

How sweet those cats adopting other baby animals and nursing them.I just don't understand how people can be cruel to animals, I agree those pitbull owners that use them for fighting, should have to suffer the same fate.

Absolutely amazing and heartwarming how animals can reach out across species and take in other creatures as if they were their own. We humans could stand to learn a thing or two from these guys!

I bet! I would love to have pets at work! It would be awful for productivity, though, since the dogs would likely just eat all the food before it gets to our customers. But we employees sure would be happy.

I don't think it was any abuse by a bird owner. It seemed to me like these were wild birds that were either born with deformed legs/feet, or fell out of the tree as babies and broke their legs. It's nice that the women can care for them and help them.
