    Breeding Dogs

Do you breed any species of dog? if so, what kinds do you breed, are there any types which are easier for you to breed and sell?

I don't recommend anyone breed dogs for financial gain. The saddest thing to see is a female breeder dog, whose owner mates her at almost every heat cycle, just for profit. Too many pups out there already that are in need of homes.

I had Chow Chows a long time ago, and let the female have one litter before we had her spayed. I didn't make much on the puppies, because I was more concerned that they went to loving homes. I gave one to a friend for free, because I knew it would be treated kindly.

Most reputable breeders don't breed for money. They breed for the love of the breed and wanting to keep the high standards of the dogs in place. Great breeders provide health certificates for things like hips, elbows, and eyes. They carefully choose what dogs they want to breed together too...not just any dog of the same breed will do. Dogs from these breeders are considerably higher in price than what you might see from a back yard breeder. But if you can afford the price it is a great way to go.

I absolutely agree, they love their particular breed, and want to keep the breed pure. They do everything possible to assure healthy pups, and happy parents. Unfortunately, that's not usually the case with many others who breed.
