I got two lovebirds from a friend and were told they were both females. I have had them for a few months now with no strange occurrences. They are relatively tame and will climb on me but won't allow me to pet or touch them or perch on my finger unless I have a treat for them and they have no other choice than to climb on my finger to get it. Recently one of them has begun to hump its soft hammock toy. I have not seen it try to hump the other bird only the toy. I don't really care that it's humping the toy I just want to make sure that this behavior won't hurt the bird. Also am curious if this behavior is common in female birds because I rather avoid having baby birds.
