    Question Random questions

    Why do cats . . .

Put toys in their food and water bowls?

Ignore their reflections in windows and mirrors?
Attack imaginary things where there is nothing?
Sleep with their heads upside down?
Sit on hard surfaces in the bedroom?
Keep your cats safe during the holidays. They deserve a meowy Catmas.

Cats sleep with their heads upside down with its belly exposed indicates a feeling of confidence and security in its location.

Not all cats ignore their reflection. I just think after time they know either it is them or they pose no harm, therefore ignore it. The toy in the bowl is just so they can show possession of that toy. It is theirs, just like the food.

I said toys, not tails, and have never heard of dogs putting them in their water bowls. If a dog's tail is in the food or water bowl, that is just the way it sits.

A habit referred to in the formal literature as ball cooling.

In your original post it says "put toys in their food and water bowls".
