Question what is this bump on my cats mouth

we have noticed a white bump on my cats lower lip. It doesn't seem to bug him but is it something we should worry about?

Welcome to the forum. You have a cute kitty.

How long has the lump been there? Has it always been that size? I see he has another one in the center of his upper lip and some black around his left eye. Are they normal coloring or changes that occured at the same time?

Thank you! His name is Amadeus he is great!!

The black under his eye and his upper lip is just his coloring. The bump is only on the bottom lip. It had been there for at least 2 months we started fostering/adopted him at the end of November 2017 and were hoping that would go away but it has not.

Are you feeding him in a plastic bowl? If so change to ceramic or glass, plastic has been known to cause lumps around the mouth, kind of like acne in people.
he is your friend and protector, he will love you unconditionally, you owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion

I'd keep an eye on the size and if it gets bigger I would contact my vet. But switching from plastic to either steel or ceramic bowls for BOTH food and water are a step in the right direction.

I agree with Esme. There is no benefit that outweighs the risk of feeding cats in plastic bowls.

Good luck! If that does not help at all, call the vet.
