Question Daisy loves the faucet, but hates the water

When Daisy was a kitten, she licked my bathroom faucet and decided to drink from it. That lasted until I broko the sink by acciidentally knocking over my marble tumbler. Since then, she would not go in or behind the sink - even after it was replaced. Recently, she started walking around the faucet (but not in the sink bowl) and licking it agan. So I turned on the cold water and the sight or sound of that trickle scared her. It has become a habit. Does anybody else's cat do this?

can't help you, my bengals love water.

You could try a fountain, that doesn't make noise and she can drink from where it comes down and not have to go near the bowl

If she's drinking adequate water every day from a bowl, then there's no reason to encourage drinking from the faucet. It would have to be dripping or turned on by you anyway for that, so it's not crucial in getting the cat liquids. It sounds like the thrill is gone for her after the broken sink incident.

My cat will sometimes jump up on the bathroom sink as I'm filling the pet bowl with water, and either lick the stream coming out or the moving water in the bowl.

I am not worried about how much water she drinks. It just does not make any sense because last year Daisy drank water from the kitchen faucet.

Update: Daisy finally drank from the sink faucet again, both with her paw and her tongue directly. While going to my bedroom I saw her standing with two paws in the sink.

That's good, maybe Daisy just wasn't in the mood for awhile.

She was just scared because of the tumbler incident. Now I make sure I always move it out of the way when she is there.

Daisy did it again today. Not sure why she would rather stand over the faucet than sit where there is plenty of space to the left.
