Planning on getting chickens next......

    To me it seems you haven't thought this through. It's a lot of trouble just to get a few eggs and if you think it's going to be a lot of fun to have chickens, think again. It can be messy and I'm assuming stinky as well, in addition you need to make sure that you abide by any ordinances your jurisdiction has in place for keeping chickens

    They are quite cute and I want a few fresh eggs every week!

    What's wrong with eggs from a store? From your other posts I get the sense that you are just looking for a pet and personally I don't think chickens make practical pets, they poop a lot and have to be kept outside, not my idea of a fun pet.

    I was already planing to keep them outside, eggs from the store? Well, as I said I want fresh eggs...

    make sure you have the coop with a cover over the top, a hawk can swoop down and take your chicken. Also you will attract coyotes, foxes and raccoons who will kill the chickens and steal the eggs.

    UPDATE:

    For those of you who have not seen my thread "YES!" (I think that's what it was called) I have am 99 percent sure I'm getting chickens! Building the coop/run as soon as possible and getting the chicks in early March!
