It looks to me like she thinks about urinating on the paper (which is not really bags, just the same material), then decides not to and leaves the laundry room. It worries me because I think she has to pee but does not want to with those papers beside the litterbox.

She's getting mixed signals with the paper there, why is it there suddenly? She's been trained to use the litterbox, the papers are just confusing her.

Trained? Waste burial is a feline instinct.

An appointment has finally been scheduled: Friday, February 1 at 11:00.

But by providing the litter in the litterbox, you are training the cat where to go in your house. They can go on your bed and bury it with your sheets if they aren't trained.

I talked to Mom abouot the brown paper. She pointed out urine can't be cleaned out from under the washing maince (which is next to the litterbox) or on the tile grout. So something has to be there.

Can't you just move the litterbox further away from the washing machine?

It is as far from the washing machine as possible. Remember we are talking about the space between it and the washer.

Daisy peed on the paper today, so that experiment was a failure.

The whole idea was to deter her from peeing there. It turned out she never did except for that one time. Mom came home to the sight of Daisy standing in the litterbox with her butt sticking up so that urine went over a high side instead of on the litter. I thought that was supposed to be impossible with the type of litterbox she has. Why would a cat do that?
