    Exclamation Eating grass again!

Why is the dog I take care of eating grass so much? He eats it ALL the time!!! And he always go's to the same place in his yard each time!?! If he is eating grass and I call him he won't come. Is something wrong with him?

    Thanks!

No, some dogs just eat grass because they like the taste or they need more water or they need more nutrients.

Is there tall grass where he eats all the time, my dog will go to certain spots when he wants to eat grass, it's usually tall and easy to eat or new growth fresh grass. Does he ever vomit after eating grass, with grass visible in it? He could have an upset stomach, or as Furballs said, he just likes to eat grass....lots of dogs do. Why does it upset you so much Yeti?

Well, he's not my dog and I don't want something to happen to him..I know the owners pretty well and most of the neighbors love the dog! I just want to make sure nothing is wrong with him. No, he does not vomit..well, not that I know of. Yes, it is tall grass where he eating, BTW, he does not have two places..only one 5 foot spot.

    Pictures of him:

Well, if he only has one spot, then that explains why he goes to the same place every time. I would mention it to his owners, although they're probably aware of it already. At least they can assure you that nothing's wrong with him, and if they think he has a problem, then maybe they can take him to the vet for a checkup or make some changes in the food he gets. Hopefully, he just likes to eat grass and he's healthy.

I agree, it's certainly common, and probably normal, for dogs and cats to periodically eat grass. When my (previous) cats or (present) dogs have eaten grass, they have almost always thrown up immediately afterwards. I have to wonder if it is some sort of instinctive purge mechanism. It may serve some purpose in their body that we're not aware of to vomit periodically. All my dogs periodically eat grass and vomit.

Ok Alpha! Thanks, I think the owners know about this.

DogForce, he NEVER vomits after...it's like his dinner.
