I would say so, they have very sensitive hearing and the loud bangs can damage them

Of course they do. Many cats are afraid of vacuum cleaners, thunder, and other loud nolises. If you have a cat like this, expect to see it hide under a bed on July 4.
Keep your cats safe during the holidays. They deserve a meowy Catmas.

Yes, I think cats would not like fireworks.

My cat is in the house if there's any fireworks going on. He seems to be aware of the noises from them, but doesn't show sign of really being fearful like a couple of my past dogs were. I think if he were outside, without the protection from noise of insulation and double pane windows, he'd be afraid of them. He has no fear at all of the vacuum cleaner, garbage disposal, lawn mower or other loud noises.

To answer your question, they are affected by fireworks to varying degrees.

Thank you for the replies, usually i try to distract him from the noise by playing with him. I'm just worried that one day i can't be with her when there are fireworks and might wander around and get hurt while the fireworks go on.

The most important thing is keeping him inside 24/7. If he knows his territory is limited to your house, he will not try to get out and suffer damage from fireworks or the people watchinb them.

Around any holidays, if there's any chance of fireworks like the 4th of July, New Years Eve, etc., you have to make certain early in the day that he's inside and safe.
