Welcome to the forum Kenny! Pit bulls are not my favorite breed but I still like them. If you get a second dog what breed will you get? Hope you like it here, it's a great place to talk about everything pets!

Hi Kenny, welcome to the forum! If your dog is socialized and gets along well with other dogs, then a second dog is a great idea.

Welcome to the forum Kenny. You chose a good message board to ask your question, but should ask it again in the Dogs section. First things first, tell us more about your current dog - name, gender, etc.

It's short for Pit Bull Yeti, very common nickname for them. Like Dobie is for Doberman. We see a lot of sweet friendly Pitties at the park.

Yes, I know it is short for pit bull but who ever came up with it is pretty smart! Great nickname!

I never saw the nickname pittie before. In fact "pit bull" is a nickname for American pit bull terrier.

Kenny, FYI we don't use real names here. That is standard message board etiquette all over the Internet.

That's incorrect, we welcome first names here CatMom, it strictly the personal preference of the member and has been that way in any forum I've visited over the years.
