    Question Newt, salamander, axolotl, what?

Over two hundred of these things washed up in my pond a few months ago. As I might add, the "pond" is a clay hole that fills with rainwater every year and becomes a haven for fish, crayfish, and other stuff. Rare finds such as a huge fish or, yes, java moss are found there occasionally. A stream runs into it that comes from who knows where. My neighborhood is fairly quiet and is near several ponds. Any ideas on what I found? Newt or salamander or what? Thanks,

I have no idea, could it be a Hellbender? More here.
