    My New Lady

My snake dealer slash new found friend gave me this adult female asiatic rhinoceros beetle. I know it'll only live a few more months but until then, i might as well enjoy her company.

She borrows a lot and flies a lot at dawn too which is kinda noisy lol

Maybe the dealer said how old the beetle is. Lifespan is apparently one to two years: http://www.nwf.org/Wildlife/Wildlife...s-Beetles.aspx

1-2 years is total lifespan from larva to adult.
I've researched european, japanese and asiatic rhino beetles and apparently, adults only live for around 4 to 8 months. Lifespan maybe shortened after mating, laying eggs or by autumn season (which is unapplicable here lol).

You wanna know what it's called in our local dialect? I'm not sure if it's the same with Antiqueños.

    BAGANGAN.

LOL. I used to have those as pets... Of course, by the end of the day, they're freed and given the chance to creep and crawl in my bed.
