Molly has a good life there, lounging and watching the birdies.

Something would be wrong with Loki if he did not like squirrels.

Her black nose was what drew everyone's attention.

When Emily was a kitten, I thought she looked like an orca: mostly black on top and white on the bottom.

Sugar Dog on his 18 foot chain that lets him go anywhere in the backyard while I'm at work during the day. He is very gradually showing incrementally more "normal dog" behavior, although it is still very much like fostering a child that grew up knowing only physical and emotional abuse. Not that I've ever fostered a child. Or fostered a special needs dog. I do not feel very qualified. Only caring/naive enough to try. I'm just following my instincts from experiences with my other dogs. Working against him are his large size and powerful build, both of which he is very aware of and accustomed to using. Aggressive behaviors that would be much less of a deal if rehabilitating a smaller dog are instead a very serious potential danger that must be factored into all interactions. Unexplained neuroses and aggressive impulses as a goto response are not a good combo.

Trying to lead his mind out of his bad memories.

(It doesn't show here, but Sugar's right eye is blue and his left eye is brown.)

Wonderful photos of Sugar Dog Force, thanks for posting them. It's so good of you to give him a loving home and I admire you for doing all you can to make it work for him, you and your other dogs. You're wise and doing all the right things, and the fact that you really care shines through.

    Thanks, Alpha.

Not all that is gold glitters
Not all those who wander are lost
The old that is strong does not wither
Deep roots are not touched by the frost
From the ashes, a fire shall be woken
A light from the shadows shall spring
Renewed shall be blade that was broken
The crownless again shall be king

You are making such progress with Sugar and I admire you very much for protecting him. It's not perfect but what in life is?

Apologies for the minimal clothing and mess, but I couldn't resist snapping this cute scene. Clockwise from the top are Sunny, Benny, and Boise. And that guy who's always hanging around.
