    Finally adopting a cat

My age is irrelevant to her. She thinks only our relationship and who pays for everything (her) matter. If I could live on my own, I would have moved out 20 years ago. I have multiple disabilities that prevent me from living anywhere else until I am old enough to live in a retirement community...

    Finally adopting a cat

It is good to see Bella improve so much even though I cannot see the end of it. I know somebody will love her and be a purrfect match. She will love being with her foster family again - this time with more attention because all the kittens are gone. Really I was hoping we could keep Bella as...

    Finally adopting a cat

You are still not getting it. When I say I have no choice, I really have no choice. It is all about my mom, not me. She is knowingly doing this against my will because there is absolutely nothing I can say to make her rethink it. Think about when you were a little girl. Did your mom let you have...

    Finally adopting a cat

Mom thinks because anyone can write anything on a message board, I should not trust everyone here to be honest and smart. It would help if this forum had a lie detector (which I know is impossible) to prove you and Alpha are longtime cat parents closer to her age than mine.

    Finally adopting a cat

I did talk to her - many times. She thinks you, Linda, Touch, and mechi are "strangers" and "little kids" who "don't know anything." Trying to make her understand people on a message board often know better than a veterinary clinic volunteer who rescues cats is a pipe dream.

    Finally adopting a cat

Touch, I never wanted to believe Bella's behavior issues can't be fixed. I know they are all fixable. I also know absolutely nothing I say can change my mom's mind when it is made up she does not want to keep Bella. Why is this so hard for people to understand? I HAVE NO CHOICE.

    Finally adopting a cat

Bella will be returned to the same foster home she raised her kittens at. She was in a cage because the foster family could not take care of kittens and her at the same time for a while. My aunt, who has had cats for decades, agrees Bella will never stop biting and scratching people when they...

    Finally adopting a cat

We finally have an appointment to return Bella: Saturday at 10:00. The adoption counselor said it is better not to let Bella get too bonded with me. She explained Bella was not socialized properly during the critical period when kittens develop personalities and her bad behaviors can't be fixed...

    Finally adopting a cat

Mom is the one not giving her time. That is what I have been saying. Read page 10.

Is it ok to play laser-tag with the dog

Lasers are definitely bad for the eyes.I have no idea why some pets like it.

    Finally adopting a cat

Definitely, but knowing I will lose her this week hurts. I can only hope a cuddly lap cat is waiting for me at the sanctuary.

    Finally adopting a cat

My mom will call the adoption counselor tomorrow. Sorry all but there is no chance Bella will stay here.

    Finally adopting a cat

    My condo, yes.

    Finally adopting a cat

Mom will call the adoption counselor tomorrow. She is adamant that absolutely nothing will change her mind about returning Bella this week even if the AC can't offer any other cats for us to take home. It is what it is. I have no choice.

Cat won't stop biting at night?

The sex does not make a difference with dominance. I had a male cat who was dominant over a female cat. Spraying is a territory issue.

    Doggie doesn't like peeing/poop outside

An instinct cats have but dogs don't is burying waste. That is why they have litterboxes. But you can teach your dog to use a litterbox without the litter.

    Hello everybody

Hi Peter. I am doing fine. What pets do you have?

    Finally adopting a cat

It was the adoption counselor's idea. Mom trusted her judgment because she knows a lot about cats, so I am stuck with the decision.

    Finally adopting a cat

You asked for advice on adopting a Bengal kitten because of Nanny IIRC. How is her relationship with Sandy Claws going? BTW I have no idea if Bella would be nice with a German shepherd in the house.

    Finally adopting a cat

I am waiting for the adoption counselor to schedule an appointment at the sanctuary to switch cats. Bella has been doing this a lot more in recent days:
