    Toilet training?

Shop for a toilet training kit. They do exist. Try this in a bathroom you do not use often - it would be a pain in the butt to share that toilet!

Vetsource offering free delivery through hospital

I got this interesting email message from my veterinary practice, Suburban Animal Hospital: Has anyone else done this? My first thought was it would have helped me when Patricia had to eat Hill's Prescription k/d. I had never heard of such partnerships.

My lil guy is so itchy and its not fleas

Whatever you do, NEVER let the vet give him a shot called Cytopoint. Not even "as a last resort." I will spare you the explanations for this. You can request a low-dose steroid (prednisone or prednisolone) to see if that helps, but it is not supposed to be a long-term solution.

Cat has stage 1 kidney failure plus wicked cavity

At this point I would do anything to avoid giving her anesthesia. Both her age and CRF diagnosis make the risk very high she will have problems. I can't speak for anyone else, but rejected the suggestion to have teeth pulled out of my last cat because of her age and CRF diagnosis. If I told my...

    Pet Shows/Events/Meets in your Area

I just think posting events in an area nobody else on the forum lives near is kinda useless. It would be a good idea if you were posting events in all United States regions, not just one isolated area. Unfortunately pet events seem to never happen here unless you count shelter volunteers coming...

Why do you keep posting events that nobody else on the forum can go to? Other members live in New Hampshire, Colorado, Nevada, and Florida so none of us are even close to where you are.

Study suggests cats understand their names

Well, she does meow when I put her in the carrier for a vet appointment . . . very loudly. Her purrs are not always audible. She usually prefers to just lick me.

    Daisy is throwing up

I leave dry food out all day so Daisy can come and go when she wants. When she is hungry I feed her 1/4 a can of wet food.

Study suggests cats understand their names

Loki is a smart cat. Daisy is my second cat who responds to her name by turning her head to look at me (or just her ears). You would have thought Emily and Wilbur did not know theirs.

    Daisy is throwing up

It is mostly just brown liquid on the carpet, but once she threw up a clump of wet food. No more incidents.

Pet sitting, and I think the dog may have fleas?!

I don't see any fleas. Does the person you are cat-sitting for know about it?

    Litter box regression?

Don't try it. If you change litters to one that stinks, she won't pee in the litterbox either.

Bloat: The Mother of All Canine Emergencies

That is a great article Linda. My sister has a Labrador/Chow Chow mix. She knows 70-pound dogs can bloat by eating too fast, so she prevents it by putting dry food in a slow feeder. It is like a maze so the dog (also named Daisy) can't just gobble up the kibbles as quickly as possible.
