Howdy!
I have a baby rodent of some sort I saved from a neighbors cat. Injury is not bad. slight gash not deep even a tiny bit. Near the shoulder. Mother is lost. Young. I have a cardboard box lined with a towel and I am using hot water bottles for heat. She/he can move around, crawl, and nibble. Eyes mostly open. I have a bit of experience with rats. I have a friend who has pet 2 rats. They used to have 2 other pet rats. I will be contacting them. They cared for them at young ages.

I will post pictures in the next post.

Questions:

How old is he/she?
What type of rodent is she/he?
What should I feed he/she? Puppy formula? Soft food? Hard food?

Any thing I should know?

I have never kept rodents before, so I can’t advise on food, care, etc. but that looks like a shrew to me. My cat brings me shrews all the time. They are pretty much a mix between a mouse and a mole.

This is what they look like.E7E6CA91-F66D-4291-8276-6EBB411B6C04.jpeg9285EB4B-3E0C-4D00-A8C5-35CC079E3C13.jpeg
