Bearded Dragon, Anyone?

Your beardie is so cute 
I guess they are not too common but I am sure people will help you with anything regarding your bearded dragon.
I have a dog and a hamster (i don't know why they think hamsters are only kids pets as small animals aren't "Toddlers pets")
Do you have any other pets?

You are right. Bearded dragons are not popular pets. I did not even know what they look like until I saw one on the old TV show Too Cute. On that show, puppies andc kittens made friends with a variety of animals. Two of them were bearded dragons.
Handsome boy, great photo! He looks so proud and wise.
I never knew anyone personally who had a Bearded Dragon.

He's also very lazy. I've been looking online for ways to get him to be more active. One thing I found was too put crickets inside a hamster ball, it's supposed to encourage him to chase the ball around... I tried that and he just looked confused haha. But I guess some dragons are just less active than others. He likes to sit on my chest and just chill, which is fine as long as he's happy and healthy!
I also have a Chilean rosehair tarantula, hermit crabs, some fish and 2 cats.
I love hamsters! Mine passed away back in 2015 and I never got another afterwards. They can be very loud at night and the older I get I found that I was more sensitive to the sounds they make. Especially when they chew on the cage. I suppose I could always get a plastic cage instead of the metal ones, which might help. Maybe one day again I will want one. But for now I'm happy with my little zoo

I only know 3 other people that have them. One is a breeder as well. They are all online friends, two are in the US and the breeder is in Germany.

I am not an Arachnids or Repile owner, although I did handle and learn about them during training and do occassionally see clients who own them, so for me CPD is essential and I am lucky that there is a rescue group locally where I can go, handle and learn more.
I think it is possibly a good thing they are not a 'popular' pet as owners need to know enough about them, their housing, care and treatment to enable them to live a happy and healthy life and too many don't ( which is why they end up in rescue...... in the 'professional' dog world whatever breed wins best of show in shows like Crufts /Westminster we all know that breed will be the 'next' need to have fashion and sets off all the BYB/puppy farmers breeding to supply the demand from their less than healthy dogs bringing on pups to make them money.
Your boy is lovely, it is hard to believe these repiles are some of our worlds oldest survivors and easy to see the 'dinosaur' in them

If you want to chat about Beardie care, there's a really good group on Facebook called 'Advancing Herpetological Husbandry', and they also have a sister group specifically for Bearded Dragons called 'How Not to Slay The Dragon - Pogona Vitticeps'. These groups were originally founded by Zoo Keepers, Vets and other professionals in the field who have opened up the groups for the general public to discuss the best care that can possibly be given to increase the welfare of our scaly friends.
