One gets the feeling her life was not charmed. At least her old friend made sure that the end was charmed.

Oh my, that poor girl, I can't imagine the horrors she lived in captivity like that. The man was an angel to see her at the end and let her go in peace. Tearful to watch that, reality is many time so harsh and cruel. :(
