More baby chicks!

Hey guys! We just got two little baby chicks. They are 4 wks old. Both EEs (Easter Eggers). They are super super cute. My dad picked them up. When he brought them home, my sister and I went to take them out of the cardboard box and they just cuddled in our arms and dropped off to sleep, so we sat in front of the heater fo a while just cuddling them. One is some sort of Americana mix, but it’s partridge with this really cool dark patterning on it. The other looks to be a blue laced Wyandotte Americana cross. They are both super cute, but I immediately fell in love with the blue laced Wyandotte EE cross. I love the blue and red color and it’s tuffs are adorable. We can’t really tell if it’s gonna have a beard or not, but the tuffs are obvious. I named it Sonata. Will post pics later. They just got home about an hour ago.

The blue laced Wyandotte Americana cross reminds me of Abby, our 6 year lap quality EE that got killed by a dog. She was the sweetest thing. She’s was kind of my pet and she would come sit on my lap whenever I was outside. I miss her a lot. Having a new little one helps.

Yes, since she’s is part blue she is lighter in color. She is also slightly less mature (just by a day or two) we think.

Yep! They have become friends with the silkies (my sister’s pets) and since they are almost the same size (the silkies are silkie bantams I think, anyway, they are just as small as the chicks pretty much). They sleep together now, since the chicks are old enough to not need heat anymore.

Also, the chicks are incredibly friendly and love human attention. Sonata is extremely attached to Sparrow, and if you pick Sparrow up, Sonata will fly up on you to get next Sparrow. I was sitting on the lawn holding Sparrow, and Sonata literally flew up and landed on my head so she could be on me next to sparrow, it was so cute. They both love people.
