Here they are😊 they are super cute.
I just put a few terra cotta pots in there and it was a huge hit, the frogs have been playing in them all day. I don’t have pictures of them playing in the pots yet. More photos coming soon.

does anyone have any name ideas? I’m pretty sure they are both girls.

Congratulations! How do you know they are girls?

Terra and Cotta
I’m not 100% sure, but both of these have a pretty round body shapes (usually female ADFs are rounder then males), though I haven’t checked for breeding spots under their arms yet.

I read females are bigger than males.

Where did you get them?
Just at the LFS (local fish shop). They aren’t breeder quality or anything, they are just pet store frogs.

Yes, females tend to be a little larger and rounder. Males will develop a white breeding spot under each forearm, that is a the most sure way to tell the gender of an ADF.

What is a breeding spot?
It’s just a little white spot that appears under the forearm when a male is ready to breed. Similar to breeding stars on goldfish (goldfish will develop white dots on/around their gill plates when the want to breed. They are called breeding stars).

I saw these in the pet shop and thought they looked really cute. I presume you need a really large tank for them? I'm just starting out and don't want to invest in anything ambitious until I am more experienced.
Their colouring reminds me of stones....so Pebbles and Crystal perhaps?

ADFs are actually quite easy to take care of. For a pair of them I’d recommend about 5 gallons. They are quite small. They like lots of natural cover (live plants, turned over pots, driftwood, etc.) they are really entertaining and love begging for attention.

They are actually a very beginner-friendly pet. As long as you are aware of the nitrogen cycle (very important for any aquatic pet) then I’d recommend them!
