Yes, you read this correctly. Not just dogs (regarded as unclean by many, but not all, Muslims), but also cats (not unclean to Muslims) and other animals. Owners of pets will face time in jail. If you don't believe me, look here:

Lots of rules/laws in Iran that in the 'free' world 'looks' backwards, ...Iranians live under archaic extremely religious rules written centuries ago by men in a totally different 'time zone'. We in the free world ( and Western educated Iranians ) know that what happened 20 years ago let alone 60 or 1,000 years ago is out of date and not 'fit for purpose' today, The same religious people in Iran are the 'politicians' who make those laws and to 'keep control' they impose rules/laws like this to do just that, so the reality is when rule of law for a country is based on an archaic religious belief system this is what the people living under those religious laws have to abide by.

This is what happens without democracy and freedom. Very sad.

You don't have to look too far to find 'similar' religious based rules/laws that restrict the public even in countries with 'democracy and freedom' when politics are closely mixed with religion or rather when the only politicans on all sides are also extremely personally religious, so the public don't get 'choice' when voting or they vote out of tradition and NI polictics generate 'non religious party' fears as they are 'parties of unknown quantities'... check out Northern Ireland UK. People live by habit and the Northern Irish have lived this way since the countrys' inseption over 100 years ago....... what do they say " better the devil you know..............." and that is what they seem to live by

Take a trip/holiday to Northern Ireland it is one of the most beautiful countries with very hospitable people, but scratch the surface or live/work there for a while and there is a whole different 'way of life'.

Yes you get to 'keep' the traditional things like family values, the neighbours that treat you like their own family going well above and beyond what happens in the rest of the UK, the kids/teenagers stay kids/teenagers and that is refreshing , in the majority their priority is their education and achieving, they show respect to their parents and other adults but it can be at a cost, take a job that sends you into the 'opposing religious area' and you can get shot/killed and the very same 'shooters' will be out 'showing respect' as the funeral is driven by a few days later to be buried( I found that bizarre and personally witnessed both shooting and funeral) or wander into the 'wrong' religious area, say/do/wear the wrong thing and you can get hackled, beat up or knee capped and that is more than 20 years AFTER the troubles 'ended', 30 yrs of "the troubles" they lived through( survived) before that and even prior to that 50 yrs it was never 'settled/law abiding'

Laws that stop Sunday opening, as it is only a few years ago they 'allowed' supermarkets and even public activity centres to open 1-4pm Sundays or even to play sports games the majority of people are still apposed and most town are all still closed, just ghost towns on Sundays. The girl who finds themselves pregnant doesn't have a choice to not continue with the pregnancy and that is regardless of if that preganacy could /will kill her like an ectopic, unless she has parents ( and a GP who is prepared to not write anything down and is an at least 20th centuary thinker ) who supports her and can take her ( for a holiday) to another UK country or even across the border to Ireland now for an abortion and they will FOREVER have to keep it secret from EVERYONE including neighbours, friends, other family for fear to her/her family who knoew getting reprisals yet abortion laws have now been put on the books in Northern Ireland not by the NI Politicans they just argued and delayed it for years, then refused to do the job they are paid to do and walked out, but by Westminister but useless as there is no where who dare perform abortions .....
