Pigeon dyed pink for "gender reveal"

Apparently, in the USA it is now fashionable to have an elaborate "gender reveal party" for a forthcoming birth. I had not even heard of such a practice until a year or so ago. Anyway, it appears highly probable that a poor pigeon was deliberately dyed pink and released into the wild (where s/he wouldn't have survived, but for a kind soul who came to the rescue) - following a gender reveal party.

To do such a thing to an innocent creature, for such a frivolous purpose, to me seems appalling.

Now that expecting parents can be told what the gender of their unborn baby will be, I've heard there are such parties. I don't know if I would want to know the gender, but that's a whole other topic, LOL.

I find it disturbing that they are involving animals in this and it was cruel and inhumane to dye that poor bird like that. I have zero tolerance for any animal abuse. What are people thinking these days? :mad:
