This is Emmy, the new addition to the family.

I got her on the 12th. I didn’t post immediately because I got her from a petsmart and I wanted to make sure there was nothing wrong with her before I posted about her. She has been in quarantine so I can keep and eye on her, and so far so good! The only thing is a slight bit of fin rot (probably brought on by stress and bad water in the store), but that is easily fixable with a little TLC and a clean, stress free environment.

She is super friendly and is just the sweetest little thing imaginable. She likes sitting in my hand and playing with my fingers.

Here she is!46B8FA3E-CA61-4D02-A457-21AFBA8B4CF0.jpeg5F53A5B7-D4DC-412D-8FF6-B5711ABD7565.jpegF25BC1D6-3AC9-4AB0-B874-04BF2C83975A.jpeg831BFBED-387B-472A-9490-95FE8C55E0FB.jpeg
I also tried to get some photos of the mild fin rot so ya’ll can see what’s going on.F2C61D9C-16C9-4C88-8839-25C4E3262FA8.jpegAA1334EC-6F88-40F6-B240-805245FFC659.jpeg

Emmy looks so sweet, love that little face! 🧡 Great photos, thanks for sharing them with us! I hope the fin rot isn't too severe, and she can live a healthy and happy life with you.

Yes, the fin rot is all healed up and her dorsal fin is growing back. I decided that since she healed from the fin rot and appears very healthy, there is little chance of her having major health issues, so I moved her to the big tank yesterday.

Emmy and Rohira (my other baby Oranda) bonded quite well and have been hanging out together.

I’m glad they like eachother. After the recent passing of jellybean (Rohira’s previous companion, a small black Ranchu), Rohira was very lonely and kept acting anxious as if looking for her. I felt so bad and I had to find him a new friend. Goldfish are very social creatures and can take loosing a companion very hard.578E1AED-D1EC-4882-BAFD-0ACA5B87921D.jpeg9384CB4A-15ED-4A3D-9A0E-A2B66518D578.jpegE3434C55-8AB2-4A96-9EC5-151ED28C2299.jpeg
